DC Direct released the latest in their deluxe 13" line last week - Batman. This is a classic style Batman, with gray and black costume and stern expression. I haven't been a fan of the 13" figures so far, considering them to be overpriced and certainly poor in articulation compared to the other sixth scale offerings in the same range. But butter my butt and call me a bisquit - this figure certainly surprised me. Oh, he's still a tad too expensive, and they certainly need to redesign those damn wrists, but he's much better than I had anticipated, and now I'm looking forward to the new Two Face coming out in a couple weeks.

The guest review is from U.K. based collector Danny Mills, and covers a nifty set of RC Daleks that come with a Dr. Who figure, all from Character Options. I'm very impressed with what's been done with this line so far, and with last week's announcement that Underground Toys will be bringing them to the States, a lot of fans should be pleased. You can find all the reviews at the usual:

    Thanks for reading!

I wish we could get that DC Direct body blank... just a plain ole' "Make your own"...

... so I don't have to dish out 60 bones just to cannibalize that Batman.

Their last production update at their blog still says October...I haven't heard otherwise yet.

Even with its flaws your review is making me want to get that Bat.

Michael, did you see the 12" DCSH figures? If you haven't I posted the Batman one on Spawn.com. There was a Supes, but couldn't bring myself to pay another $32+ for one.

I had hoped to find him yesterday, but alas, he wasn't at the local TRU. I'll be looking again today, but if he's $30 around here (which I'm assuming he will be unless TRU screwed up when they first put him in the system), then he'll take some serious abuse on that price.

I saw that batman in the store and was very impressed by it... It looked like a cross between the Jim Lee comic batman and what the suit looked like in the "Dead End" short film.

He's a good figure, but the price made me feel real bad. If you've ever been rob that's the feeling.
